Servomotors
 |
In line with its "one-stop-shop" motto, LAMTEC also offers motors for driving the flaps and valves on your combustion installations. The motors, designed for interconnection with electronic systems, have been tested in industrial applications and carry safety approval.
It goes without saying that these motors comply with the safety requirements for the use and positive connection of tested potentiometers, as well as the principal criterion for precise electronic interconnection: zero-float feedback connection.
There are three types of standard motor available straight from LAMTEC stores: the 12 Nm, 19 Nm and 30 Nm, all with a 60 sec. operating time. The detailed technical information can be found by selecting the data sheets. Apart from these three standard models, we can also supply motors of up to 120 Nm equipped with different limit switches and potentiometers, and with different operating times.

Remote interrogation
Going there is great - remote maintenance is even better |
All LAMTEC`s new generation instruments come with a serial interface. Using appropriate software, the commissioning engineer or the service technician can now link directly to the unit and call up a whole range of graphically presented information.
The unit can also be conveniently configured via this interface. The usefulness of the interface can be further enhanced in combination with an industrial modem. It allows you a view the installation from your office. In the event of a fault you are immediately in the picture.
LAMTEC`s instruments record every fault, together with a great deal of additional and varied information. These provide you with important data on fault analysis and rectification. Although the distance means that servomotors cannot be replaced or pressure switches repaired, you do nevertheless get useful information about the cause of the failure.
|
 |
It may be sufficient to provide the operating personnel with an appropriate suggestion. But even a service visit, where necessary, can be prepared more effectively this way. Repeat journeys caused by not having taken the right parts can thus be avoided. A modem link is an invaluable tool during the commissioning phase, too. The engineer on site can receive specialist support from an expert at head office. Using installation data called up on screen, the latter is able to provide the engineer with useful suggestions and ideas. In addition, non-safety relevant configurations can be modified from head office without the need for the commissioning engineer`s intervention. It is also possible to equip LAMTEC units with a wireless modem during the commissioning phase. With the TD 32, LAMTEC offers you an industry-tested instrument for cap-rail assembly.
The modem is available in two versions, powered by 230 V AC or 24 V DC. It is connected to an analogue telephone socket, and when called up it automatically sets up the link and selects the baud rate to the VMS, FMS, LT 1 and LT 2.Thus, via your PC and modem you are connected to the LAMTEC instrument as though you were standing with your laptop directly in front of it.

Electronic compound regulators / burner control units |
Electronic compound regulators and complete burner control units from Lamtec. These instruments set new benchmarks in the control of combustion systems. Thanks to the wide variety of possible settings and additional hardware and software options, the units can be adapted for nearly all combustion tasks, from simple monoblock burners to complex power stations. Lamtec offers a comprehensive range of products, starting with the ETAMATIC for simple combustion facilities, via VMS / FMS for larger installations, all the way to the complete 19" burner control unit. And all this with a universal operating philosophy. Thus, LAMTEC`s burner controllers cover the entire spectrum from medium to large burners. Integration of many of the functions needed in combustion systems into one instrument saves wiring and commissioning costs. Choosing the FMS or ETAMATIC considerably reduces the number of external units needed, thus creating a price/performance ratio without peers.
The VMS, FMS and ETAMATIC are tested by TÜV Bavaria. All units comply with the relevant EN standards (EN-298 and EN-230) and thus are licensed across Europe for operation in combustion systems. Over and above that, they meet in part the more stringent demands of TRD-604. They are licensed under DIN-DGVW. The integral FMS leakage monitor meets the requirements of DIN V3447 and of prEN1643. The integral output regulator complies with DIN 3440.
|
VMS compound management system Universal electronic fuel/air compound control unit for all types of combustion systems. TÜV-tested, licensed for TRD 604 installations. The VMS is the VR 4 ratio controller`s successor. It includes the electronic compound controller with 4 or 5 servo outputs. The analogue inputs have 10-bit resolution. This permits actuator accuracy of < 0.1° with a 90° motor.
|
 |
All operational and error messages are displayed in plain text. Up to 20 points can be input per curve. The unit`s configuration can be changed on site through password-protected parameters. In the standard configuration, the unit has 2 curve sets (e.g. for oil and gas); 4 or 8 curve sets are available as options. The options of introducing corrections have been widely extended. This further improves the ability to implement special installations.
The unit has a PC interface. Curve and parameter data can be saved by means of a Windows 95-based program. As a result, the VMS can be remote-controlled and the curves represented graphically. A demo version of this remote control and remote display software is available here (download the demo version).
In addition, the VMS has a LAMTEC system-bus interface for linking to other new-generation LAMTEC instruments, such as LT 1 / LT 2 Lambda transmitters for measuring the O2 content of flue gas and for optimizing combustion.
The VMS can be connected to the control system via standard bus systems. The following protocols are available:
Profibus DP Interbus-S Modbus CANopen SUCOnet-K Other features:
The last 10 faults are stored and can be called up at any time. Integral, fuel-referenced operating hours and start-up counter. Direct link to a Namur sensor for measuring revolution speeds in rev. speed control systems (optional) Optional integral output regulator with special functions, such as start-up and shutdown capabilities and weather control
All these innovations notwithstanding, the operating method has remained the same as in the VR.
Curve input is just as simple in the VMS as in its predecessor. A graphic representation of the most important options and functions is shown in the functional diagram (germen).
An example of the VMS in practical deployment is shown in Reference installation Zurich airport.

FMS combustion management system The complete burner controller that meets all requirements. TÜV-tested under EN298/230 and licensed for TRD 604 installations. By using a different relay unit and a software module, the VMS compound management system becomes the FMS combustion management system. Thus, the electronic compound regulator comes with a burner controller already included. This integration saves a great deal in terms of wiring overheads, and reduces the number of error sources. Commissioning the system becomes simpler.
|
 |
The FMS contains all VMS functions. However, in addition it also contains the combustion controller, and if necessary, also a leakage monitor. All these functions together reduce the required number of external instruments to a minimum, thus creating a price/performance ratio without peers. When using the FMS with integral leakage monitor, output regulator and possibly rev. speed feedback, almost everything needed for combustion control is integrated into one unit. Safety chains, sensors and monitors are linked directly to the FMS. Additional external regulators or monitoring devices are hardly needed any more.
And if you want to save even more on wiring: the FMS is available together with ignition and main flame monitor and with New value/first value signaler, complete with all relay modules built in and wired in a 19" rack .
Visual data and operation are the same as in the VMS. Control of the magnetic valves, the ignition transformers, the ventilators etc takes place via a special relay module. This allows valves up to 2 A to be switched directly. The FMS has 16 digital inputs, of which 3 are inputs for separate safety chains. Thus, external error sources can be differentiated, identified and displayed.
The controller can be adapted to the widest range of different tasks through simple parameter settings. Many of these can be adjusted on site. Each permitted flame monitor can be addressed via a floating-potential contact.
Naturally, the FMS is also available together with the LAMTEC Flame monitors complete in one housing (FMS with flame monitor).
Other Features:
The leakage monitor for testing the gas magnetic valves can be set either before start-up and/or after shutdown, as preferred Several special features are built-in to facilitate commissioning, for example a special mode to help in adjusting the ignition burner and flame sensor settings. Variable pre-venting suppression Automatic adjustable restart after malfunction shutdowns Temporally separated flushing of the recirculation channels during pre-venting is integrated as per TRD Main and ignition flame monitors can be started up separately.

ETAMATIC Compact electronic fuel/air compound regulation with an integral burner controller. The ETAMATIC was specially developed to control all the processes and functions of monoblock burners. Designed for mounting on the burner, it combines in one compact housing all the functions necessary for burner control. An overview of all the functions can be found under ETAMATIC functional diagram. In detail:
|
 |
Fuel/air compound control with 4 servo outputs Burner controller Leakage monitor Flame monitoring (optional) Output regulator Operating hours and start-up counter A constant servo output for revolution speed regulation of the Combustion air blower incl. rev. speed measurement (ETAMATIC S) O regulation Field-bus link (optional) Thus, apart from the output section, no additional components are needed at the burner. The ETAMATIC also has an RS232 interface for visualisation and remote control from a PC. With the Windows-based program it is possible to represent curves graphically and to save all the parameters. In addition, the ETAMATIC has a LAMTEC system bus interface for linking up to the LT 1 / LT 2 Lambda transmitters, used to measure O2 content in flue gas and to optimise combustion. The ETAMATIC / ETAMATIC S are designed for continuous operation in accordance with TRD-604-72h. |

Zirconium dioxide probe for direct detection of combustion residue (CO/H2) in waste gas: KS 1 Combi probe. The KS 1 Combi probe makes possible simple and economical in-situ monitoring of combustion quality in firing installations. Combining the KS 1 probe with O2 optimisation allows the implementation of improved control systems that automatically adapt to changing combustion conditions. The KS 1 probe uses the potentiometer measurement principle and is based on a solid zirconium dioxide electrolyte.
The probe’s operating temperature is 600 to 650°C, and thus above the dew point of water and acid. This makes possible long-term stability of in-situ measurements, directly in the installation’s flue gas.
Measurement requires no mechanically-driven parts!
The KS 1 Combi probe allows the detection of CO concentrations of 20 to 5000 ppm in the flue gas of combustion facilities. The settling time t60 is below 2 seconds.
Compared with pure oxygen measurement, the KS 1 probe offers the following advantages for the optimisation and monitoring of combustion systems:
Independent of air leaks Rapid response (t60 < 2 seconds) No calibration gases required Unambiguous and reliable detection of combustion residue (CO/H2) Mean lifetime > 3 years Simple operation Robust Low-maintenance Economical In conjunction with the LT 1/LT 2 Lambda transmitters, this provides a complete O2 /CO monitoring system for oil- and gas-fired systems. The KS 1 Combi probe can be linked, either on its own or in addition to an O2 probe, to the LT 1 and LT 2 analysers.
In the future it will be possible in gas combustion systems, using the KS 1 flue-gas probe in conjunction with an intelligent, microprocessor-supported fuel/air compound control system, to detect, adjust and maintain the optimum working point near the emission edge of a combustion facility.
The additional O2 probe can be omitted when monitoring a gas combustion system only for CO. The KS 1 Combi probe can be linked to the LT 2 Lambda transmitter as an alternative to the LS 2 Lambda probe. This provides a direct, low-maintenance, very fast responding CO monitor at a reasonable price
